Today is March 1st which marks the beginning of my birthday month! Yes, I’m almost 26 and I celebrate my birthday for an entire month.
However, as much as I love my birthday, there is someone I love more and something that I have a passion for, more so than I ever thought possible. That someone, is my little superhero, Rémy Hugh Anderson. And that something is something we never expected and he certainly never asked for.
Rémy was born on April 26, 2017 with a bilateral cleft lip and pallet. Despite that, he has been a bright and shining light to everyone that has met him since that day forward. I FaceTime him most days, and I swear that little superhero knows his Aunt Sister and as soon as I see him smile and hear his little “growl” my entire day is instantly better.
Rémy has been through more during his first year of life, than some people go through in an entire lifetime. He will have his second surgery before the year is over and will have countless doctor’s visits, dentist visits, consultations, etc. not just for the rest of this year, but for many years to come.
Needless to say, Rémy’s journey is far from being over. What I want more than anything for my birthday, and for his birthday, and for the rest of the year, is for Rémy’s story to be shared so it can inspire so many others.
I decided that there would be no more perfect way to kick off my birthday month than to start this GoFundMe page, so that my wish that I mentioned above can be fulfilled.
