Team Priya emergency medical fund

Donation protected

Dear community, on October 13th, 6 year old, Priya Pilheden suffered broken bones, a fractured skull, and a traumatic head injury, when a tree fell on her, while she was fleeing from the wind in the woods. She has been air lifted to Vancouver Children’s Hospital, where she is getting continued care and testing. Her family (Jona, Vidya and Kailash) have joined her in Vancouver and it is unknown when she will be discharged. Unfortunately, this is going to be a very expensive, traumatic, emergency experience for their family. I am calling on us, as friends of Priya and family, to take care of their immediate financial needs, while they are having to stay in the city.

As many of you know, this has been the most challenging year of their lives. With their infant son Kailash’s heartbreaking health challenges, missed work and renovation needs to their home, this family needs a break in a big way.

Let us please help them feel even a small comfort, during this truly horrific incident.

***To anyone local who does not use credit cards: Barbs now has a donation jar at their front counter. I will be setting up an island savings account for Priya for them to periodically deposit it into.
Thank you for your generosity! ***
