Team Pontorno

Miki Pontorno, and her husband, Joey, are going through challenging times. Joey has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma which has metastasized to his brain. He just completed his first surgery to remove the brain tumor and will now begin the process of targeted immunotherapy to shrink a kidney tumor so that it can be safely removed.

Miki and Joey have two little girls and reside in Yancey County. Miki is a treasured, long-time employee of Mountain Air Country Club and is known for her welcoming personality and willingness to serve. For 21 years, Miki has been a consistently helpful and friendly member of the Food and Beverage Team. Miki is also very involved in her children’s lives. She coaches youth soccer and stays active with school, the Girl Scouts, and other activities.

Due to COVID, Joey was laid off and has been unable to work, thus preventing the availability of proper health insurance to aid in covering the necessary procedures needed for his recovery. Due to this untimely obstacle, we wish to share this Go Fund Me page. All monies donated will be given to the Pontorno Family to provide financial assistance during the healing days to come.

As friends and family, we support each other in times that are worth celebrating and times that require strength and support. At this time, Miki, Joey, and their family need strength and support as they work towards better health for their loving husband and dad. Thank you for your kindness and caring.
