Team Lennon - We Can Beat This Together!
On Monday, April 6 Luder noticed a bump on Lennon’s head that they hadn’t noticed before. They took him into the clinic the following day which resulted in some testing and follow up visits. On Friday, April 10 Lennon was transferred to Children’s Hospital. Today April 11, 2020 Luder and Carly were given the devastating news that no parent wants to hear. Their sweet 1 year old boy Lennon was diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. So far they have been informed that treatment will take roughly 2 years, some of which they may be able to do at home eventually. The most aggressive treatment will be in the next 4 to 6 months. He will start chemotherapy/radiation on Monday, April 13.
This GoFundMe was started to help offset upcoming costs including travel, lodging, and time off of work. This type of Leukemia and treatment puts Lennon at a very high risk to catch secondary infections, which is especially dangerous for him as his body can’t fight off the germs most normally can. Carly works as a nurse in a clinic and will likely be out of work for sometime as she will need to be out to take care of her sweet boy and avoid bringing other germs home from work to him. Please consider donating! Anything helps!
From Carly: My beautiful, STUBBORN, crazy haired , blue eyed, long lashed, silly, charismatic one year old baby has cancer .. I don't understand, I will NEVER understand. Funny a few days ago I was messaging our photographer to set up his 2 year pics, and now 3 days later we are discussing his cancer treatment plan. While the dr was sitting us down breaking the news just now Lennon was busy playing with his trucks in between us and interrupting the dr over and over to tell him hi. He is resilient, pure, and so so innocent . Please pray for us and hold your babies tight. Love the Ludewigs
