Team India Swim the English Channel

We are Team India, a fun but crazy bunch who have been enjoying open water swimming together. After one swim in a Welsh lake on a late summer evening, the conversation in the car turned to Angie asking "How can we take our swimming more seriously?" And someone, not sure who, came up with the bright idea of swimming the English Channel together as a team! Well, here we are two years and a global pandemic later about to attempt the challenge. It's getting very real. We're set to swim on June 30th 2021 give or take a few days depending on the tides and weather, thanks to Uswim Adventure who have been guiding us this far.

The team: 
Captain Claire leads the way and has the somewhat challenging and thankless task of trying to get us all organised.
Angie was the first to go without a wetsuit and keeps us buoyant with her incredible enthusiasm and belief that "We can do this, girls!" 
Cate is a powerhouse who has us all in stitches with her humour whether she means to or not.
Sue inspires us with her incredible fitness and then she feeds us up with her beautiful homemade cakes. We wonder how she stays so slim!
Emily swims to a different stroke and with her calm spirit and honest responses helps us stay on track when we lose our heads a bit .
Becky waits in reserve and astounds us with exactly that! Her reserve and resilience are an incredible reflection of her steady strength.

We are raising money in aid of the RNLI because we know that the water is never to be underestimated and we are so grateful for the amazing work that they do.
