Team Herman

Because Diane's words are so much better than mine could be, I am copying a few of the things she has already told you all on Facebook...

"Our family is on the battle front again and we covet your prayers. Our son Slate went to the doctor last Friday because of fatigue and shortness of breath. He was quickly diagnosed with Leukemia. He will start intensive chemo treatments today at Pres St Lukes in Denver. He will be in ICU at least 4 days. We are absolutely blown out of the water with shock, but we fully trust the God of all creation with our lives here on earth and in eternity. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28~ Please lift Slate up in prayer as he is going to be in the battle of his lifetime. We are girding our loins, and gearing up with the full armor of God for the days and months ahead....

Well friends, the plot has thickened for #teamherman. Isabelle has been sick for a month and after some tests, she has been diagnosed with the same type of leukemia as her big brother. Yes we are stunned with this diagnosis just one week after Slate, but this is what we know....God is the same God as he was yesterday. He has a plan and a purpose in the midst of suffering. He loves our children even more than we do. ~Love them deeply, hold them loosely. Plan for tomorrow, but live everyday as though it may not come. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you. To give you a future and a hope~Jer 29:11"

While I know that the very best thing we can be doing for Team Herman is battling on our knees in prayer, I also know that they will have major expenses in this season. They will be paying deductibles, other medical expenses, travel- as their son Max is in Guatemala as well as the orphanage they run- lodging while in Denver and other unforeseen expenses. It is clear to see that the Herman's have touched so many lives. They have touched mine in a huge way. If you are anything like me, you want to help in any way possible, and I know that this is one way that we can bless the Herman's during this season. Please let me know if you have any questions. My number is [phone redacted].
