Team Don't Tell Mom & ComeBoating!

We are Leigh and Clare, sisters who are competing in the Race to Alaska with hopes of becoming the first all-woman team to complete the 750-mile race all under our own power - no engine, no sails! The Race to Alaska is a quirky yet intense adventure race, open to any vessel without an engine. The race begins in Port Townsend, Washington and ends in Ketchikan, Alaska.  It's a super fun race to follow, complete with a real-time vessel tracker and entertaining daily updates.  Be forewarned that you may become a tracker junkie!  To get a taste of the slightly zany flavor of R2AK, check out our race bio.

So, while we have a passion for adventure and love a good challenge, we have zero hope of winning the $10,000 prize for this race since we'll be competing in a 21' rowboat against bigger boats with sails! (And also some smaller boats with sails, some of whom we may or may not beat.) 

If you think our goal is worthy and would like to assist, we would appreciate it! Your contributions will help us pay the race entry fee and transport our boat from the east coast to Alaska and back.  And you'll also be helping another worthy cause - 20% of contributions will be donated to ComeBoating, a unique non-profit community rowing organization that excels in taking people from all walks of life and co-mingling them in traditional rowboats to ply the cold waters of Maine's coast.
