Hi Friends and Family,
Many of you know Heather Creech and her family very well, however this Go Fund Me, might land with people that are strangers to their family and for that reason here’s a little back story about Heather and her journey.
Heather has been a dear friend to many of us for years and to some like a sister. I'm not sure words could accurately convey the Christ-like heart this woman has for helping and serving men and women in need. Heather is a woman with a HUGE heart helping and serving at local food pantries, organizing lunch campaigns that help feed children in need during the summer months, collecting donations for young, expectant mothers in need, collecting and organizing donations for the homeless community in downtown Atlanta and if that’s not enough, when she's not serving the community, she is an active and loving wife and mother to her greatest treasures, her husband Andy and her 3 adorable boys, Aidan, Julian and Sam. She is the best mom, the kind who throws a birthday party for her boy's stuffed animal dragon complete with decorations and a real cake!
On Thursday, February 8th Heather received a phone call with the results from a recent biopsy concluding she had breast cancer. Heather is 32 years old. Ladies, please conduct self-breast exams and get your mammograms regularly. One week after the diagnosis, Heather underwent a lumpectomy removing the cancer, margins were tested and thankfully clear. Heather has healed phenomenally, thank you, God! However, when cancer cells were found during a PET scan, it changed the course of treatment. To ensure the cancer does not return long term a full hysterectomy is scheduled for April 24th. Additionally, Heather will be going through 3 rounds of chemotherapy, additional doctor’s appointments, blood tests, medications and side effects, procedures, surgery...and on and on.
While Heather and Andy have medical insurance.... the out of pocket expenses to fight this beast will be approximately $15,000. That's a huge burden to bear when you are focusing on healing, your family, staying positive and tethered to your faith which ultimately gives strength. If you know this family and you are asking "How can I help?” -- you can give to this campaign and HELP to lighten the financial burden. No amount is too little, every bit HELPS. If it were you, Heather would be the first one donating or setting up a drive to meet your needs.
