Team Cameron - Fight Against AML

Don protégé
On Monday April 15, one week shy of his tenth birthday, Cameron Claussen’s mother took him to the doctor thinking he had strep throat.  A full blood test was ordered and the results were shocking and upsetting; Cameron actually has Leukemia.  He was immediately admitted to the hospital where a spinal tap and bone marrow test confirmed a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).  A double-port was surgically placed Thursday, April 18, which will allow Cameron and his medical team to start aggressive chemotherapy treatments.  Cameron is nervous, but is also a brave warrior who is ready to give this fight everything he has got.

Cameron is the oldest of four, and the son of Ralph and Becky Claussen.  They are a strong family at the start of a long and tough journey that could include future visits to Duke University in North Carolina.  It is anticipated that this journey could be lengthy, and it will certainly include an array of medical and other expenses.  In addition to your prayers, love, and messages of support, the Claussen’s, and all of us that love and support them, would be grateful for any financial donations you might be able to provide to help them in this fight.

Becky and Ralph are touched by the outpouring of support they have received so far, and welcome any new members to Team Cameron’s Fight Against AML.

With our deepest gratitude,
Team Cameron
