Rikkz and Andrea Premnath were in India for a 6 month mission trip. It was during that time Andrea was
first diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, Dec. 2016. It has been in remission until this year. Having similar
symptoms she was hospitalized in April of this year. After testing, she was diagnosed with new onset
Crohn’s disease/IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). She has been in and out of the hospital via OSU for
DVT/Pulmonary blood clots (saddle PE) and just released from Univ. of Michigan where they placed an
ileostomy to bypass large intestine.
Andrea is a vibrant, hard working person. Always ready to help others and now has been bed ridden by
this disease and has been off work. This will be a life changing diagnosis which in its self is difficult to
embrace. She will be having more biologic infusions to reduce inflammation of Crohn’s. Andrea and
husband Rikkz are overwhelmed with medical expenses. There have been costly procedures, over 12
units of blood, biologic infusions, and surgery to EMS transportation… With lack of Andrea’s income, off
work due to 60 days in the hospital in last 4 months, it continues to be a struggle. She has been paying
for her insurance to keep it active but the amount of bills coming in still have large sums not covered.
We are asking for any contributions you feel able to give in order to help them over this hurdle. There
are thousands of stories and ours is one of many, but we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
