Team Albert

In June of 2019 my husband Josh and I traveled to Homa Bay, Kenya to participate in a Habitat for Humanity build during which, we built a home for widowed mother Dinnah and her five children; Isderis, Helida, Salin, Enos, and Albert. In the process, we formed a bond with the family, as well as many of the children in the surrounding village. Though Dinnah and her children now have a safe and stable home, they are still living far below the poverty level and struggle to afford food, healthcare, and school supplies.

Josh and I are partnering with Kenyan non-profit, Miwani Utu Development Self Help Group for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children, or MUDEV, in order to raise money to help meet these needs for Dinnah's family. We have personally agreed to sponsor Albert and had the privilege of seeing him attend his first day of classes on September 3rd. MUDEV created the heartwarming video below of Albert being registered for classes and shopping for his school uniform, groceries, and household goods.

Our Go Fund Me campaign aims to raise enough money to sponsor Albert's three siblings under the age of 18 for one year; Helida, Salin, and Enos, which costs $5,000. These children are bright and happy and hardworking,  and they deserve as many opportunities in life as possible. Any support that anyone could offer, even the smallest amount, would mean the world to Josh and I, but more importantly, it would make such a huge difference in the lives of Dinnah and her children.
