Hey, I am Sarah, I started this GoFundMe for a very dear friend of mine and her family. Here is their story.Ashley is a mom of 6, a wife to Josh, a best friend, a sister, daughter and an all around amazing person. On Sunday, one of her twins, Teagan (23 months old), fell and bumped his head. Ashley took him to the ER just as precaution because he did try to vomit a couple times. While at the ER they gave Teagan a CT scan and found a 2.8x3.5cm tumor on his cerebellum. At that point no one had any idea what kind of tumor or how serious it was. So the plan was to take him to DuPont on Tuesday (which was the earliest they could fit him in), only to find out that DuPont no longer accepts his insurance. So they called Hershey and were going to take him on Wednesday. Well Monday Teagan had continued to vomit and Ashley and Josh did not want to wait to take him on Wednesday. They took him on Monday afternoon. After hours in the hospital they were told that they were not leaving and that surgery was tentative for Friday morning pending results of the MRI. Teagan finally got the MRI on Tuesday afternoon which took approximately 3 hours and he was sedated for the whole procedure. The results of the MRI determine the tumor is localized (no other visible locations)to just his cerebellum, not on his spinal cord which makes surgery a tad bit easier, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more tumor cells in there but they aren’t visible right now. Due to the location and the mass being so large and taking up mainly his left side Teagan may have trouble with walking, hand/arm coordination after surgery. It could be temporary or it could be lifelong. He may have to learn how to walk all over again, or he might always walk with a stumble. We have no way of knowing until after the surgery. Surgery is scheduled for Friday October 13th at 10am. Treatment following surgery will be determined on his condition and biopsy of the tumor.Ashley has been in the hospital since Monday with Teagan, which means no work, has only seen her other children once this whole week. Josh is still working every day to try and provide for everyone. But as they find out more and what is going to have to happen after surgery, they need help and if anyone knows either Josh or Ashley, you know that they’re always the first to help when someone needs it, without question. So let’s help them and try to make their life as easy as possible through all of this. #TEAMTEAGAN #TEAGANSTRONG
