Samantha’s Surgery

Sam has been battling gastroparesis, an illness where her digestive track is basically paralyzed. She currently relies on a nasal feeding tube to give her nutrition. She suffers persistent nausea and stomach pains if she eats anything by mouth. This is a condition that will not get better on its own. The doctors have given her two options. Gastric bypass surgery that would fix the problem entirely, or they can place a feeding tube in her stomach for the rest of her life.

Unfortunately the surgery is not covered by her insurance. But Sam’s friends and family believe the gastric bypass to be the best option for her, and that the feeding tube should be a last resort.
