Olive's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Olive was born in 2013 unable to breath due to a severe upper airway obstruction. Olive was airlifted from Armidale to Newcastle where she spent 3 months, mostly in intensive care at John Hunter Hospital. During this time she received a tracheostomy which she still has today. Due to her trache, caring for Olive is relentless as she requires 24hr monitoring and care from her parents. Olive has spent much of her short life unwell and with many stays in hospital.
To rectify Olive’s condition she requires major reconstructive surgery. Unfortunately a number of doctors on the east coast have not been prepared to perform the surgery due to lack of experience in cases such as Olive’s. This has meant that she has had to undertake treatment across the country in Perth. Over the past 2 years Olive and her parents have made 7 trips across to Perth and further trips are still needed to continue with her treatment. This comes at great financial expense to Olive’s family. Please consider donating so that they can continue to seek treatment for Olive in Perth in the hope that their precious little girl can enjoy a healthy, normal life.
