Meet Herbie.
This little dude came to the North East SPCA as a stray. Immediately when he was picked up, it was clear that he was injured. Before even coming to us he was rushed to Gateway Veterinary Services to see what was wrong and it was pretty clear that he had a broken leg. We gave him some pain medication and kept him as comfortable as possible while we attempted to find his owner. Unfortunately it seemed as though Herbie did not have a home.
Once we established that Herbie would be staying with us, we made an appointment to find out how bad the break was. We scheduled him a vet appointment and got him X-Rayed. The break is extreme and likely would not be a successful "repair", our only other option is to amputate his leg.
Herbie is one of the sweetest cats you could ever meet. He is calm, loving and never yells at us when we have to move him to clean up his house. We are seeking donations to assist in covering the cost of Herbie's surgery. We currently have 40+ cats residing at the Harry & Eve Vickar Shelter so vet bills are high. We need your help to save Herbie and give him the life he deserves!
