Help Me Get To Ghana

Hello. My Name is Taylor Lofton, and I am a 16 year old senior at Benjamin Banneker Academic HS (WDC) in the IB program. I am an Honor Roll Student, a member of The National, French and Math Honor Society, senior class President, and on the cheerleading team. I am also a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a Delta Gem, and a member of College Bound. I love to mentor elementary school kids at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, volunteer at Food and Friends, help fundraise and participate in the Walk for the Homeless and Avon Walk for Cancer. When I am not studying or doing community service, I like to read, spend time with my family and do fun stuff with my friends.

All of the above over the past years has increase my desire in foreign affairs and the desire to make the world a better place for us all. I want to travel the world, learn how others live and hopefully make an impact so prolific that we become one harmonious world.

I have a chance to embark on a journey of a lifetime and I need your help. As I stated above, I am a member of College Bound here in DC which is a organization that assist 8-12th grade students in  DC Public Schools and Public Charter Schools with academic enrichment and resourcess to prepare and suceed in college. I have the opportunity to travel to Ghana and Amsterdam in November with my College Bound Ambassadors to not only see "The Door of No Return" and "Anne Frank's House" but to visit schools and take school supplies to kids that are less fortunate than myself. I will not only be enhancing my own knowledge but I will also be able to help other students better their education.

This is where you come in at. I need your help. In order to go I must raise $3,500.00 by November 3, 2014. No amount is too little. Every bit helps.
