Hello friends and friends of friends,
Our story:
On the night of December 4th, my landmates and I walked to the top of the ridge at the Ojai Foundation where we watched the beginnings of the fire that would eventually burn through much of the Ojai Valley and Los Padres National Forest.
Those of us who were there were lucky enough to grab a few important things before evacuating. We would soon come to find that our houses and our jobs had been claimed by the fire.
Today:
Fortunately, my daughter Alma and I are doing well, and we've been very grateful for all the loving support we've received! Yet, the scale of the loss due to this fire has become more clear over the passing weeks. I've been deeply humbled by this experience and the need to ask for such a large amount of help.
What is needed:
We have been blessed to have such beautiful friends to stay with during this transition; however we are in need of financial support for the months to come in looking for a new job and a new home. Some of these costs include: the entire process of renting a home accompanied by furnishing it with necessities; as well as replacing all of my work supplies for my mobile massage practice.
How soon:
Having the funds within the next month will be very helpful in allowing me to return to my work, and rebuilding our lives and our home in the beautiful community of Ojai.
So I would like to thank all the people who have already helped in the process and those who would like to offer their support in the coming days and weeks!
