Our names are Tatum and Carlyn McLean and we are local dancers from Niagara Falls, who are seventeen and thirteen years old. We have grown up taking lessons at Laurie Ewart’s Danceworks, a local dance studio and have been training in all dance disciplines. We were scouted at a dance competition to audition for World Performers Canada.
Out of 1500 dancers who auditioned, in three different city locations, we were both offered to join Team Canada, which only consists of 100 dancers in total. We were fortunate to make three dance teams each. (Senior ballet, acro and tap for Tatum – Junior ballet, acro and jazz for Carlyn.) After training last summer with World Performers in Toronto, and working with prestigious teachers and top choreographers from across North America, we were both additionally offered to do trios and Carlyn was awarded a solo. That is ten dances in total between the two of us.
Ten entry fees, ten choreography, ten rehearsal fees and ten world-worthy costumes.
The Canadian dance team will be travelling to Sitges, Spain this summer to compete in the Dance World Cup European Finals competition. Over 6000 dancers from 40 different countries are expected to be there! It is such an incredible honour to be sisters, growing up in Niagara Falls, and living out the dream to represent our country on a world stage.
We are submitting this letter, along with the World Performers official letter, because we would really like to be sponsored by you. We are proud to have grown up in Niagara Falls, been involved in our city and would love to advertise your name, or a business that supported and BELIEVED IN US!
