Tarzan Movement into Film Festivals

Who are we?

Hi! My name is Alexia Kraft de la Saulx and I’m a documentary filmmaker based in Barcelona. I met Victor at the beginning of the year 2022 thinking I would create a new documentary to kickstart my career as a film director. But documentary filmmaking never goes exactly how you plan it. A few weeks of work turned out to be a few months, instead of being another piece of work in my portfolio I slowly started to understand it was a totally different kind of project. A project that inspires change in ones life and habits. I found myself adopting the Tarzan Movement philosophy and changing the way I saw the world around me. Collaborating with Victor has brought so much inspiration and I hope the documentary has sparked the same within yourself! So we are taking this documentary to a next step, film festivals.

Our goal and how we plan to use your contributions

I’ve submitted my short documentary film (4min) to film festivals, and the final fees for all the submissions sum up to about 200€. I’ve been selected winner of 2 different film festivals, and featured to be screened in about 10 more festivals. Since this film runtime is longer than my short we set up a goal to reach 600€ for these submissions.

I’ve been introduced to the platform FilmFreeway at the end of my documentary filmmaking masters degree,and its one of the greatest tools for filmmakers. FilmFreeway is a website that showcases all existing film festivals around the world. You can upload your film projects in order to submit them to any film festival of your choice. Depending on the opportunities that offer these film festivals, the price of entry fees change. The greater the opportunities they offer, the greater the entry fee.

The impact of your contribution

After months of intensive collaboration, Tarzan Movement documentary is finally out into the world to be seen. But even now that the film is finished our work has only just begun. Our aim is to reach and inspire as much people as possible all around the world, and film festival platforms are one of the greatest ways to achieve this goal. Applying to film festivals means that we get the opportunity for the film to be seen by potential actors, such as producers, TV channels, online platforms, that could help us towards our goal. But applying the film to these festivals comes at a cost, and since this documentary was made with no budget, we decided to reach out for your help in this matter. We hope the film has inspired you, and with your financial help, we hope it will inspire many other people around the world to join the movement!
