Tarmac has an eye problem that isn't going away.
Since I adopted Tarmac a little over a year ago, he's had on and off problems with his eye. I went to a couple of vets who told me not to worry about it too much, but it turns out I was right.
My new vet has given him several shots and eye drops to combat the ulcer in his cornea. He's been in a cone for coming up on three weeks now. And, while there is some improvement, the underlying issue isn't going away. She wants to sedate him to see if it's a sinus issue, and have a kitty ophthalmologist look at him to see what needs to be done.
I spent my whole vet care budget on the first appointment, where we did the initial exam and earliest line of treatment.
Hopefully, having a specialist examine and treat him will help Macca feel better soon. He's already dealt with this issue for most of his young life, and I wish I could help stop the pain for him.
He's always been a loving, happy cat. He plays, and he knows tricks ("sit", "high five", "down", and sort of "stay"), and he likes to wake me up by making kitty biscuits on my side.
When I adopted him, the humane society told me that he had been found in a box full of kittens, all less than a week old. He'd been abandoned before his eyes opened. He almost didn't make it, and he was lucky. My cat isn't one to show pain, but he's dealt with enough of it for a lifetime at less than two years old. I wish that I could pay for his medical care on my own, but I've already dipped into my already-tight food budget to pay for his medicine. I'm ready to admit that for his sake, I need your help.
I'm still trying to ascertain how much his care will cost, but I'm going to update the goal as I know more, and anything you can give will make it easier for me to care for Tarmac.
