Tara Eaton’s fight against cervical cancer
Donation protected
In December of 2020, Tara went for her 6 weeks post partum check up after delivering Emmett on 10/20/2020. The OB had found a nodule on her cervix at 36 weeks, but had to wait until after delivery to re-examine. At that time, out of concern, a biopsy was done and it was determined that some form of cervical cancer was found. Due to Covid, scheduling and testing didn’t happen until January. On 1/19/21 a PET CT was performed and results on 2/1/21 determined a diagnoses of stage 3C1 metastatic cervical cancer. Tara will begin her treatment on 2/10/21 with genetic testing (due to a high risk of other cancers in her family) and CT mapping for radiation, and a port for chemotherapy placed in her chest on 2/11/21. Chemotherapy & Radiation treatments will begin shortly after that and she will be traveling from Clovis, NM to Lubbock, TX (202 mi just to the dr) round trip Monday-Friday for approximately 6 weeks as she will be receiving chemo & radiation at the same time. Tara is a hair dresser in Clovis, and will have to take a leave of absence from the salon until the doctors clear her to be back at work. Jarett and Tara have great health insurance through Jarett’s job, however any funds raised will be used to help with travel expenses such as food, gas back & forth for treatment, hotel, child care and any medical treatment insurance doesn’t cover. We appreciate any prayers for Tara, Jarett, Kelan & Emmett, along with donations and support during this time!
