FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR FAMILIES OF THE VICTIMS OF THE QUEBEC SHOOTING – SOLIDARITÉ FOUTAH DJALLON CANADA – TAWBA MOSQUE MONTREAL
On Sunday, January 29th 2017, between 7-8 pm, a 27-year-old man entered the Islamic Cultural Center in Quebec City, and opened fire on a group of men who were performing the last prayer of the day. Several of them were wounded and six perished.
This fund is to honor their memory . Indeed, among the victims, Mamadou Tanou Barry and Ibrahima Barry were members of the Guinean community in Canada and were much appreciated and respected by all of us. They were loving husbands and father of young children. As the president of Solidarité Foutah Djallon Canada, a non-governmental organization that represents the interest of Guinean community in Canada, I initiate this campaign, in collaboration with Tawba Mosque Montreal, in order to support the families of our fellow community members. This campaign was approved by the victims' families before being launched. These families not only lost a husband, father, son, brother, but also their main source of income.
ALL your donations will be handed over to the families by Solidarité Foutah Djallon Canada and the Tawba Mosque.
None of us can change what happened the 29th of january, but each one of us can bring a little support and comfort to the families.
On behalf of the families of the deceased, thank you!
