Tam's House Fire

Hi guys. On Tuesday morning, Tam's apartment caught fire, and while no one was injured, the damage was pretty extensive. The paint was peeling from the walls and the smoke created so much residue it started to crystalize on hard surface. Nearly all of his possessions were damaged by the heat and smoke, most of which will need to be replaced. Clothing, furniture, sheets - even basic toiletries. Everything in his room was melted and covered in a layer of soot, and he's already thrown away bags and bags of ruined items. On top of that, he's unlikely to get his security deposit back, which complicates finding and renting a new apartment. With the holidays coming up, I know this has to be a blow for him, especially since he had only been living there a few months.
     I know that this year has been, in so many ways, a struggle for everyone. I know with Christmas coming up, all of our pockets feel emptier than usual, but this is our friend. Dig a little deeper. In a month or two, you won't even remember what you were going to spend that twenty dollars on, but Tam will always remember that you used it to help instead. Small sacrifices are the basis of human kindness, and you're all some of the kindest people I know. And if you're not in a position to give anything, send this to anyone on your friends list that knows Tam. It could be a bigger help than you realize.
