Tammy Neter’s medical care

My mom was diagnosed over 5 years ago with a debilitating disease called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). An extremely fast moving disease that paralyzes every muscle in the body until the heart is finally affected. She’s come a very long way and so far has made it much longer than the usual 3-5 year sentence. Not only that but she’s still talking and full of light.
My mom is a phenomenal woman. She’s worked as a teacher her entire life, but one that changes the future and brightens the day of those around her. She’s not one to ask for help, or even let on that she’s struggling, so I’m here to ask for her. The cost of overnight care alone without insurance (for a year) is over 100,000 dollars. Insurance covers little over 1/5 of this. Add rent, equipment, the help during the day, and bills and affording this is far beyond a pipe dream at this point.
She desperately needs to retire this year, working is exhausting and without the use of her limbs it’s become simply too tough. She needs to find a permanent residence but all of that seems impossible to her because the funds and aid simply are no where near enough. My mom has spent her entire life helping others and it seems now there’s just not enough help for her. Please, even if you can only give 20 dollars ANYTHING will help. We are desperate.
