Tammy Wilson Hart Service Dog

Tammy had brain surgery in July 2018 to remove a life-threatening arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Tammy's brain surgery went well, and the AVM was removed. However, she acquired a brain infection immediately after surgery. Tammy underwent 7 brain surgeries to clear the infection and control its devastating impacts.   She had 2 permanent drains installed in her brain to control pressure and a titanium plate over much of the right side of her head to replace infected bone.

Tammy came home from the hospital 5 months later unable to walk, blink, smile, eat or drink. She had lost over 30 lbs. and was on a feeding tube. Her left side of her body was weakened and suffered nerve damage.  Her eyes were unable to move from side to side and her left side peripheral vision was blinded. She also suffered from severe confusion and hallucinations.

Today, Tammy's facial paralysis is nearly healed, and she can blink, smile, eat, and drink normally.  Her left side is stronger, and her balance and vision have improved.  However, she still needs assistance to get around.  Her confusion has improved but is still severe and is a safety concern when she is alone.

Tammy would benefit greatly from a service dog that is specially trained for vision, balance, and confusion assistance.

Tammy has been approved for just such a special dog. Tammy begins training with her dog very soon. At the end of the training, we will need to pay $15,000 to bring the service dog home to help Tammy. That is why we are starting this gofundme campaign.

We hope everyone that reads this will donate some amount to help cover the costs of Tammy's new service dog.

Thank you for your support!
