Help Tammi rebuild
Donation protected
Tammi and her 17 year old daughter have been living in an off grid wooden home, built by Tammi's ex partner, in a secluded area in the Hertfordshire countryside. A few days ago, a wood stove accident burnt their house and entire belongings to ashes. They now have no clothes, no food and no basic necessities in addition to having no home and having to stay with friends.
Tammi works in a nearby day centre for special needs people, and her monthly income has already been used up to pay for toiletries and food for herself and her daughter. She estimates that £10,000 worth of belongings was destroyed in the fire, much of it irreplaceable.
To rebuild their lives, Tammi and her daughter need at least £5,000 to cover the cost of cleaning up the debris, for building a new home to go on the land and most importantly to cover the expenses involved in replacing kitchen equipment, a generator for heating and lighting and other basic necessities like food, clothes and toiletries.
Tammi is a dear friend of mine. She is one of the most compassionate, humble and unassuming people I know. For the past 20 or more years, she has dedicated her career to working with children as an outdoor play worker for Watford council. Last year she was made redundant but continues to be involved in socially beneficial projects and even amidst the devastation she is experiencing now, still talks about future plans that will benefit not only local children but the entire community.
Her situation is urgent and needs your help as soon as possible and for this, we will be eternally grateful. Please watch the short video we made in which Tammi explains her predicament.
