Michelle and I have come together to raise money for suicide awareness and prevention. As many of you know mental health is my passion and suicide has touched my life in a profound way.
We signed up for the official Out of Darkness walk in Melbourne, Fl on 12-4-2020. However, it has been converted to a virtual walk due to Covid. We will be still walking 3 miles in a TBD location and anyone can come and join us even if you cannot contribute with money the walk is open to any and all friends who want to come show support.
We will be collecting money until Dec. 31st. And donating what we raise to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in my Aunt Teri’s name. As many of you know my Aunt was a soldier in the US Air Force and we sadly lost her to suicide in 1992. I have made it my life goal to learn and spread education on mental health.
If you make a donation of $5 I will be handing out crocheted ribbon (made by me) in various colors. Our goal is $300.
Ribbon colors:
1. White- loss of a child
2. Orange-loss of a sibling
3. Green- A personal struggle or attempt
4. Red- loss of a spouse or partner
5. Purple- loss of a relative or friend
6. Teal- supporting someone who struggles or attempted
7. Gold- loss of a parent
8. Silver-loss of a first responder or military
9. Blue-supporting suicide prevention
Once you have donated please send either me or Michelle a PRIVATE message with your address and we will either hand deliver your ribbon or mail it. Thank you in advance!
