Taking Comic Books Into Africa

In April of 2017, I traveled to one of the poorest countries in the world, Ethiopia. My time there was spent learning about the culture, hardships, and children of the country. I tasted the food, played soccer with the children and tried to come to terms with just how good you and I have it.

I vividly remember sitting on the steps of a building that would be condemned here, surrounded by children and answering questions about who exactly the tattooed characters on my body were. As I made every attempt to answer the bombardment of questions that I received, I continually looked down to find a child lifting my sleeves to get a better look. It was in this moment that I realized that these children had no idea what a superhero was.

I sat for weeks on end trying to figure out exactly how I could change this. Here were some of the most innocent children in the world, and they were deprived of the one thing that has made life good for so many others.

I came back to my home with a mission to change the lives of the children I met. I write this for anyone who reads it that may be able to help me help some children in countries of need.

In early 2018 my brother and I are going back to Africa to do what we've dubbed a "Comic Drop" and we are bringing 2000 generously donated Comic Books with us.

We are asking you to help us get there.

The trip, the shipping, the logging, the food, and the accommodations all cost money. The flights alone are over $3,000! This Gofundme page is set up to help alleviate the costs associated with each of these. More than that, this Gofundme page is set up to help us help many children who so desperately need it.
