Taima the Seahawk (Children's Book)

I was born and raised in the Seattle area and cannot remember a time before I fanatically adored the Seahawks. As an expression of my love for this incredible team, I have written and illustrated the story of Taima, the hawk that leads our team's charge into every home game. We follow his journey from hatching in a storm out at sea to watchful protector of Seattle and face of the Seahawks franchise. He trains the team with a hawk's strength, flight, and vision and leads them to their first Super Bowl victory. It is moving and beautiful and every bit the Seahawks children's book I wish I had been able to read as a wee 12.

Taima the Seahawk is in the beginning stages of publication through a company called Mascot Books. Through Mascot, I will be able to self-publish and maintain total creative control, but will undergo the process with the help of their industry expertise and capacity to reach retailers like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Because it will be self-published, it must also be self-funded.

The $3,850 figure is the cost for printing the first 1,000 copies. This story will be adored by Hawks fans everywhere and I am confident that it will far exceed sales of 1,000 copies, but getting the project off the ground is something we just cannot do on our own financially.

I cannot wait to share this story with the entirety of the 12th man and would love to see it on shelves before the next season begins in a few months. I dream about this book being beloved by families clad in blue and green for years to come. I have created Taima the Seahawk with so much love and pride and to be able to share this work of art with all of you would forever make me a happy Hawks fan.
