Taelyn’s Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Our little Taelyn will be having heart surgery June 21st in Rochester, MN. She was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White when she was nine days old. Wolff Parkinson White is a syndrome where an extra electrical pathway in the heart causes a rapid heartbeat. The condition is rare in children as young as Taelyn. After her first episode when she was nine days old, doctors told us that she would outgrow the condition so we started weening her off medication after her 1st birthday. When she was 2 1/2 she had her second episode of tachycardia where she passed out at daycare and her heart rate was close to 260/minute. After she became stable, we put her back on medication and planned to have surgery when she was right age and weight. Unfortunately, at the end of April Taelyn had a very severe episode and was hospitalized for cardiac failure. Joe and I thought we were going to lose our sweet girl. She’s made a recovery from that episode but her cardiologist at Mayo has recommended to have heart surgery ASAP to correct the issue. Taelyn is one of the sweetest little girls and we would love and appreciate your prayers and support through this tough time.
