Good Day Friends I am experiencing  financial hardship I am in need of support getting back on track

CAN YOU & WILL YOU HELP!

In 2017 I lost my employment as a Development Manager with a local Non-Profit causing a financial crisis for myself and my family. At this time, my three children were living with me. I lost my home in foreclosure, my car was repossessed. This led to bankruptcy. Yet because I have been BORN to THRIVE, I decided to take my skills to the test. I picked up work wherever I could. I became a housekeeper, catered and did food delivery.

During this time, I rebuilt my credit with intention to buy a new home; and to start my own Plant Based Business in Midtown Global Market. I opened INFUSEDLIFE PLANT BASED EATERY in January 2020. This was all done for the purpose of helping my family heal (Emotionally, nutritionally) and also financially. While supporting the community by providing a wellness-based service and products.

However, life does not come without challenges... During this time, I found myself “at times” in a low vibration (negative) place feeling a sense of lack; which lead to unhealthy co-dependency type relationships. ( Friends, Lovers, Family) When my recent love relationship became emotionally and physically traumatizing, I drew on the self-confidence and support I had built around myself; and got up the courage to leave.  Which lead to instability for my keeping a roof over my family's head.

I am currently left with no further financial support.  My son is now living full-time with his father until I find stable housing. The arrangement has caused HUGE effect, on the health and wellness of our mother son relationship. I feel like I am being punished for leaving my toxic relationship.

Meanwhile my business has been open during this Covid 19 Pandemic as well as been HUGELY EFFECTED by the RIOTS.
By the grace of God, I am considered as an essential business. I have been earning a modestly small income from the sales. It is not enough to cover all my expenses and essentials needs to rebuild my life after my partner and I separated. I am currently trapped in a couch-surfing situation, which is incredibly destabilizing.

BUT LETS BE CLEAR THIS IS  BY DESIGN. In 2016, black families, on average, had a net worth of 10 cents to the dollar of the typical white family, while women owned 32 cents on the dollar when compared to men. As a black woman entrepreneur we face a lot of challenges. Oftentimes we are under valued and under capitalized. When it comes to getting traditional loans for our business. NOW LETS TAKE IT BIT FURTHER: As many of you know, home ownership is one of the major ways of building wealth and not only wealth for oneself, but for the next generation.  History shows that black people were not afforded these same opportunities of building wealth as their white counterparts. Land was stolen, policies were created to keep black people from getting mortgages, and down payments are so high that it makes home ownership almost impossible for the black community.

Today I am inspired by the countless other Black women who have been victimized yet have broken down barriers within our community, to tell a bit of my own personal story.  I think that one of the most important skills is the ability to self-advocate. Raise your hand.

MY HAND IS NOW RAISED I am hoping to raise $40,000 so that I can secure STABLE housing for myself and my young son including a safe space for me to love and support my new 8 month old grandson.
I desire to pay pay less for monthly expenses because I own a business.
Paying over $1200 a month for 1 BR rental apartment  is not sustainable for my family.
Paying  an average of [phone redacted] a month Mortgage for 2-3 br home is MUCH more realistic and sustainable.
HAPPY FAMILY = HAPPY COMMUNITY

HERE'S  WHY WE NEED YOUR DONATION
Down Payment – A standard down payment is 10-20% of the purchase price
Homeowner's Insurance –

Earnest Money –
Earnest money is placed in escrow along with an offer to show serious intent to purchase the home.
Closing Costs – appraisal fees, survey costs, title insurance, home inspection, attorney's fees, recording fees

Can you help? Please pass this along to others who may value my journey.
