The Tabernash Tower Burns, Help Kramer Cleanup
Donation protected
Longtime local and Retired Firefighter's Rick Kramer's Home caught fire on Friday November 15th. He was remodeling his tower style cabin, as his trailer home was becoming uninhabitable.
Kramer was almost done with the cabin and was getting ready to move in when a fire started on the second floor torching bot structures and leaving them uninhabitable. Kramer was able to move his truck and motorcycle as well as Sunny (his dog) to safety.
He plans to rebuild his home, but most likely "not a tower this time."
Rick Kramer moved to the Fraser Valley in 1981 where he worked at the ski area. Over the next 38 years Kramer grew roots in our community selling firewood and making things out of logs. Anyone that has ever bought firewood from Kramer would usually ask "is all that wood really mine?" as Kramer would always throw in extra.
He joined the Volunteer fire department in 1985 and is currently a board member for East Grand Fire.
Kramer always gives people the benefit of the doubt and is always willing to lend a hand to his fellow man. Be it letting a local stay in his cabin to get back on their feet, or plowing out someone's road to get them in or out of their house Rick Kramer truly believes the world would be a better place if we all helped each other our.
Now Kramer needs some help to bring what is left of his cabin down and clear out his lot. Rolloff dumpsters are expensive and these funds will help with that cost as well as getting Ricky back onto his feet.
