Who is Taavi:
Taavi is a 40 year old trans man with a heart of gold. He also is a Sagittarius~a lover of children, family & fashion.
He is currently saving for gender affirming surgery and other necessary medical care. He deserves to exist in a body that feels like home to him-he is more than ready for how he feels on the inside to match how he looks on the outside.
Why does Taavi need your help?
Taavi also suffers from fibroids and is prone to cysts. He had a total hysterectomy Friday August 20th which has left him unable to work for more than 6-8 weeks. He will also be having top surgery in early 2022. His consultation with the surgeon has been scheduled for March 2022. Many transmasculine people will bind or otherwise disguise their chests to alleviate physical and social dysphoria. Taavi has difficulties binding, which makes facets of his life harder. Moving through a world that sees his chest instead of seeing him is difficult, depressing, and sometimes dangerous.
What is top surgery?
Transmasculine top surgery includes a range of procedures that remove the patient's breasts and reshapes their chest. If this fund hits its goal, Taavi will likely be receiving a double incision procedure. It's a low-risk surgery with phenomenally high satisfaction rates.
What is a hysterectomy?
A hysterectomy is an operation to remove the uterus.
This fund will serve to cover any out-of-pocket medical expenses, follow-up visits Taavi may need and to cushion him financially while he's unable to work. After hysterectomy he will be recuperating, raising funds for top-surgery and mentally preparing for his top-surgery procedure.
