Jose’s Battle with Cancer
Unfortunately, one of our dear friends and co-worker, Jose Pantoja, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
He is now struggling to pay medical bills, co-pays, essential services not covered by insurance, and missing work, due to the aggressive chemotherapy treatments that have debilitating effects.
Jose’s chemotherapy cycle is once a week for two weeks, with the third week off. Since the start of chemo he has had a few setbacks that have required hospitalization to drain fluids, adjust medications, and dissolve blood clots. These setbacks have caused unexpected expenses in transportation and additional missed time from work and he is still in the beginning stages of chemotherapy. Jose remains strong in battling the cancer that interferes with the memories that he still has to create with his family.
Jose needs to beat this cancer to be the super dad his daughters know him to be. Jose is married for 25 years to his wife, Wanda. They live with their two daughters Jasmine age 13, and Briana age 19. Jose has dedicated his time to his family and work, and is highly regarded by his family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and his community.
