Protecting Caroline, Legal fund 4 brave lady

*Please scroll to 5.5.2019 for recent statement*

Caroline Farrow has been witnessing to her Christian faith in the public square, notably on UK national TV
, for some years now. She has done so with great courage and her witness is beautiful and clear.  Here is  Caroline's website with more examples of her work.

Increasingly,  Caroline has come under disturbing attack.

A team of us would like to raise money for a legal fund for Caroline, so that she can retain the services of a lawyer, who will be able to respond to these attacks in a timely and effective manner.

If money were no object Caroline would long since have hired a lawyer. She needs legal representation, support and advice. We sincerely hope that, together, we can make that happen.

*Due to the nature of the problem, if you wish to donate, you may wish to use the anonymous option. The Team and Caroline will still be able to see and thank you.*

Please could we also ask you to keep Caroline and her family in your prayers? Thank you.

In this New Year we pray for God’s peace  and  blessings  on us all.

8.12.2018 General Update
Huge thank you to the wonderful response in the first 24 hours of going live. We raised close to 10% of our target in the first day. Thank you so much. Please continue to share this campaign.

14.12.2018 General Update
We’ve  received various comments since starting this fund which in one form or another express concern about Caroline having access to a lawyer. It is for a lawyer to advise Caroline what constitutes criminal behaviour towards her and, in the light of that, what steps to take. It is right and proper that Caroline should have access to a lawyer.

21.1.2019 General Update
A huge thank you for the wonderful and generous response to this campaign in the run up to Christmas. As you may imagine it takes some time for donations to process in to GoFundMe and then out to the recipient.  Now that this has been achieved we are waiting on the first consultation with a specialist legal team. In that the funds for this first consultation have been raised, we are pausing the campaign until that action step has been taken and advice considered.

19.3.2019 General Update
Just to confirm that Caroline is working with a first class Legal Team.  Thank you so much to everyone for making this possible. Obviously the legal fund that we have raised will only go so far and I have been in discussion with Caroline about potentially refreshing this campaign in response to the evolving needs.

26.3.2019 General Update
Caroline's interview with Toby Young
This GoFundMe was set up so that Caroline has access to legal representation. On the 18.3.2019 she was called by Surrey Police and asked to attend an interview for allegedly misgendering. If you google, you will find global reporting on this matter. Surrey Police were keen for Caroline to use their Solicitor for the interview.  Caroline was able to stand her ground and say that she would bring her own Solicitor. Following the widespread attention that this matter attracted, the Police dropped the investigation on 21.3.2019. Thank you so much to all of you who have been contributing to Caroline's legal fund. In the course of recent reporting some of the egregious harassment that Caroline has been subject to has also now been reported by third parties. The linked interview with Toby Young for @Quillette is one of many recent interviews that Caroline has given.

30.4.2019 General Update
It’s not easy keeping up with events, but those of you who follow Caroline will be in no doubt about her need for Legal Funds. This Fund remains live. I would like to flag up, again, the possibility of donating here anonymously.  Thank you so much for the spontaneous support shown here in recent hours. I will thank everyone at the beginning of next week. Please keep Caroline and her family in your prayers.  Thank you

5.5.2019 General Update
Caroline Farrow statement:

‘’I will shortly be defending a legal claim alleging harassment and defamation (as a consequence of which I am currently injuncted from saying much publicly).

However, the case is likely to raise important issues of law on matters of concern to both people of faith and those who hold a “gender critical” perspective.

It is likely this case could impact on future law around the rights of people of faith and gender-critical thinkers to think and speak freely, possibly leading to a significant curtailing of both free speech and matters of conscience on gender-related issues.

I will be defending the claim on a number of grounds including on the basis of freedom of speech and freedom of conscience.”

Caroline’s Friends speak:
Anna Johnstone: ‘I am full of admiration and respect for the public witness Caroline has given so effectively on many of the neuralgic Catholic topics of our day. This GoFundMe was the campaign that I have, for a long time, wanted to support, but was waiting for someone else to organise. I do hope that you will want to support this campaign. Every donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated, both financially and for the support it represents.  Thank you.

On a separate note, despite the seeming glamour of Caroline's public appearances, I know that the Farrow family are not awash with cash and I have encouraged Caroline to add a donate button to her website to give those of us who are grateful for her articulate and authentic Catholic witness the opportunity to support her work.'

David Blyth: 'Intolerant parties must be held to account when trying to silence a legitimate voice, irrespective of the view.'
