John's Journey

Donation protected

Our brother John was diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma a few days before Thanksgiving 2017, after suffering a seizure at home during which his arm was also broken.   The tumor was removed on Dec. 4th and he is enrolled in a clinical trial at MGH to afford him the best chance at survival.   He is currently undergoing daily chemotherapy/radiation and weekly infusion of an investigational trial drug. We are hopeful that this clinical trial will be successful and he will have a good outcome which will prolong his life.  The reality is, this diagnosis is an aggressive cancer that usually recurs despite surgery, chemo and radiation, sometimes as early as 6 months after treatment.  We are an extremely close family and his diagnosis has been overwhelming for all of us.  John has been the rock of our family since our parents died several years ago.  To know John is to love him - he is an a wonderful husband to Linda & father to Alyssa and Ryan - a loving brother, cousin, nephew and friend - he is an honorable man that my parents were very proud of.
John is an enthusiastic, hard-working and fun loving guy who embraces life to it's fullest.   He is a Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainor who's passion has been helping countless young adults involved in all levels of sports, heal and return to their full potential.  He has helped many adults rehab after surgery/injury so they can return to their families and work and be the best they can be.
Our sister in law, Linda is also a Physical Therapist who has skillfully treated numerous adults, and most recently children with special needs. They have both spent their careers helping others and making positive impacts in the lives of their patients. Unfortunately, Linda has had significant health problems that have led to her inability to continue working , prompting permanent disability.
John's sudden and devastating diagnosis has had a tremendous impact on him, his family and our extended family.  John had been carrying the health insurance for he and Linda, however will likely not be able to return to work.  The exorbitant cost of health insurance needed to cover his medical bills as well as Linda's is staggering.
Unfortunately, in the midst of this health crisis, John and Linda have to sell their house to prepare financially for their uncertain future.
We would greatly appreciate any donation that may be able to defray some of the costs of John's medical care and provide him some peace of mind knowing his family will be taken care of.
