Emergency Rent Assistance

Hello - we're starting this fundraiser because sadly, our household of four is at immediate risk of eviction.

We are a group of Black and Filipino queer and trans people who have been hit hard with long COVID and unemployment during the pandemic. As a result, we've fallen behind on rent and have a housing court date on December 20. We need to raise two months of rent to keep our home.

Emergency rental assistance program funds are almost completely depleted, and there is a severe shortage of tenant lawyers. Despite this, the courts are continuing to move evictions forward at a rapid pace.

We live in Bed-Stuy, a historically Black neighborhood where Black people are being priced out and forced to move. With your help, we can slow the tide of displacement and gentrification.
