Fundraising for Funeral Expenses
Tonight, as I type these words, a mother from Kalgoorlie is waiting at Perth Airport to board a NSW-bound flight. Corinna Smith is on her way to do one of the most heartbreaking things a parent can do- say goodbye to their child for the last time. Luke Smith, 22, Corinna's only child, was killed in a car accident last night, a few hours north west of Sydney.
As Corinna heads off to do something that no parent should have to, her friends want to ensure that the cost of the funeral and weekly expenses like rent and bills, are one thing that Corinna won't have to worry about in the initial stages of her grief. At short notice (and at short notice fare price), Corinna booked the flights from Kalgoorlie, WA to NSW on her mother's credit card. That's just what you do as a parent; you find a way to be with your child when they need you, no matter the distance, no matter the cost.
Over the coming weeks, Corinna will have a multitude of expenses to keep on top of. We want to ease the financial burden that comes with losing a beloved family member so suddenly. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
