Dear Beloved Friends, Family, & Benevolent People I have yet to meet,
I have been diagnosed with lyme disease, and while it's not possible to tell how long I've had it, I have been feeling it's symptoms for over 2 years, with varying degrees of severity. In February 2017 I underwent an emergency appendectomy, which I believe Lyme was the underlying cause of, and since then it has been an immense challenge to stay helathy and functioning well while caring for my 2 year old son full time alone, and supporting us financially.
Being a single full time parent is challenging enough on it's own, and accompanied by Lyme symptoms of headaches, fatigue, frequent cold/flu symptoms, ringing in ears, insomnia, digestive troubles, brain fog, and joint & muscular pain, the challenge of coming up with the money to pay for treatment is quite overwhelming. I am already at my maximum capacity paying for basic living expenses of rent, food, utilities, and gas while caring for a very young child. I appreciate with all my heart any financial help you can offer me during this challenging time.
After a long time suffering because I felt completely limited by the cost of working with a credible lyme practitioner, I feel incredibly blessed to have found a practitioner who was recommended by someone I deeply trust, who has had much success with clients and is much more affordable than many others in the field. Still, I will need about $1500 to cover visits and treatment. Insurance does not cover any of the cost.
I will be visiting with this doctor weekly to track my progress for 12 weeks, and taking the recommended medications and supplements. Lyme has caused damage to many areas of the body so it is a process to restore the function of each system. He will continue to monitor each system each week, to see how the body is recovering. After the initial visits, it was found that the lyme has attacked primarily: Kidneys, tonsils, adrenals, sinuses, digestive system, thyroid, and brain. I am starting the initial program of treatment which includes 12 visits, and then it is possible I will be fully recovered, but that will be determined at the end of treatment.
The costs for the initial program of treatment are:
Intake visit $75
12 follow up visits $660
Initial medications/supplements $449
Two follow up Heart Rate Variability tests $80
Supplement refills $200
Total: 1,464 rounded up to 1,500 because extended visits which are sometimes required cost an additional $15 each.
I am asking for the precise amount to cover the bills that I know of now, but I gratefully accept anything that goes over this amount, as I have already wasted hundreds on other attempts at treatment (I feel much more confident about this one), and I will need extra child care during treatment to give my body time to rest and detox.
