Help with Gap payment of financed car

Hi my name is Gabriel. Last week I wanted to surprise my mom by taking her to a dinosaur museum since she loves dinosaurs and has dreams of becoming a paleontologist. We were on our back home when I was making a left hand turn at an intersection when a car seemingly came out of nowhere and T-boned us. I had just bought my car (financed) in November of last year. My insurance company deemed it a total loss yesterday and is paying my lender the total valued price of my car. This payment almost completely covered the total principal of my loan except for $5,100 of it (the gap). I have tried taking out a personal loan with other lenders so I can pay this gap which in turn would allow me to finance another car with $0 down payment; but I didn't get approved due to the loan still open on my car. When I financed my car I was completely unaware that GAP insurance existed. I learned of it's existence only after the accident. Without a car I cannot get to and from work which is 35 miles away from my home, and without being able to work I will likely not be able to pay my bills and I will likely lose my home within two to three months. I am an independent person who tries his very best to solve his problems myself without asking for help, and seeking a hand out wherever I can get one. But I cannot get myself out of this one alone, and my family cannot help me neither. I had no choice but to come here for help.
