Sylvani Babui Jnr Support Fund
Sylvani Babui Jnr is an 8yr old Tiwi boy, living on Bathurst Island with his Mum and Dad. He is their only child.
On Friday he was flown to the Royal Darwin Hospital, with a number of serious health concerns. On Sunday Sylvani underwent an MRI and on Monday after a series of other scans the family was told he has Glioma Cancer in his brain stem. This is inoperable and the treatment he will receive will only help to slow down the process and growth of the cancer. Sylvani's parents have sadly been informed that his condition is terminal. They are simply devastated.
Sylvani and his parents are flying to Brisbane to start 6 weeks of radiotherapy treatment, which will hopefully shrink the tumour.
We are hoping to raise some money so that Jnr can experience some things that all kids should be able to. If he is well enough throughout his treatment, we would love to send them to SeaWorld or Movieworld while in QLD. Some precious memories for them as a family and ones that will no doubt put a smile on their faces.
When they return to Tiwi, Sylvani and his family will need support in ensuring he can be cared for and has everything he needs. We would like to use some of the funds raised, to buy Sylvani a new bed, linen, a TV and other household supplies that the family may require. Depending on his health Sylvani may or may not be able to return to school for short periods of time. We would like to support this process when and if he does.
