Sydnie Canencia

Sydnie Tori Anela Canencia was 20 years young and full of so much life and love. Her presence, infectious smile, and laughter brightened every room. Sydnie’s strength, heart, and faith were truly like no other.

Sydnie’s journey began in October of 2017 when she first experienced a pain in her lower back. Over-the-counter pain medications did not help and the pain only persisted. After 6 trips to the ER and consults from numerous doctors, there were still so many questions and no answers; they could not figure out the cause of her pain and Sydnie was only prescribed with stronger pain-killers. On her last visit to the ER, doctors informed her family that they had noticed some unusual cells that needed to be checked. Doctors decided to do a full run of tests and on January 11, 2018, Sydnie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Although Sydnie and her family were shaken up with the news, their faith remained anchored in the Lord’s word and His promises. Sydnie said, “This illness is not of me, not part of me and I don’t have it”. She also told those around her, “I know I am healed already, I just gotta go through the procedures”. Despite her circumstances, she remained positive, hopeful and full of joy. Sydnie knew that she needed to fight, but she also knew that no matter what happened, the victory was already won through Jesus!

After going through her first month of chemotherapy, Sydnie woke up one morning with tremendous pain and a fever. She was admitted to the hospital and later transferred into the Pediatric ICU.

On February 14, 2018, just a few days after her admission to the hospital, Sydnie Tori Anela Canencia was received by our Heavenly Father and became our guardian angel. We know that she is no longer suffering and in a better place. For that, we have much peace. Her life is a testimony of God’s faithfulness, His promises, and His perfect will.

Your support will go towards Sydnie’s medical expenses (Emergency visits, surgeries, chemotherapy, tests, labs, multiple blood transfusions, procedures, hospital stays, etc.) but if you are unable to contribute, your prayers will be greatly appreciated in this season of healing. May the Lord God bless you and may the peace of God be with you!
