Support fund for Sydney Ross

Sydney was involved in a hit and run ski accident December 16th at Brighton resort on the Crest run.

A individual with a group of friends came down a "slow zone" with great speed they disregarded the "no jumping" sign, jumped the roller and collided with Sydney. The collision left her unconscious on the mountain. The individual did not stop.

Sydney was life flighted to the University of Utah where she was in ICU on life support for one day and 2 day in trauma ICU.

She suffered a grade 4 concussion with seizures, injured carotid artery, spained hand and fingers and left arm that is rehabilitatiing.

Due to the TBI recovery process she is not able to perform the work she had done for her livelihood for 1 year and has left her in a position where she will need to seek new opportunities for employment. Due to seizures Sydney experienced this has left her is unable to drive for 6 months

Both of these circumstances leave her in a compromised financial situation

Her recovery priority for the next few months will be to be able to giver her body the time and attention to heal and stabilize from the trauma she suffered to her brain, she will then need to pursue work and activities that will allow her to be able to continually progress long term healing and recovery.

We are grateful for the prognosis if she follows these guidelines she will make a full recovery. The challenge will for Sydney to take this time she is very much a go getter and independent.

When she was coming off life support her first concern she wrote on the white board given to her was "What happened to me?" and "I have to go to work". She was so concerned about her ability to provide for herself she didn't care for her condition other than she need to get up and go make her way, she was concerned for the bills and livelihood she needed to maintain.

This will be a learning curve for her to scale back her desire to go provide for herself. She feels a lot of stress about the limitations she has incurred and this stress reduces her ability to heal.

We thank you for advance to helping her reduce her stress and ability to focus on healing by helping eliminate the anxiety and stress associated the financial burden she has incurred by this experience that will help her heal, become stronger and eventually return to her full capacity which is that of a go getter where I have no doubt she will give back to others in their need.

Much love and gratitude,
Sydney Ross
