The Swings for Soldiers Organization was founded in April 2015 by several Penn State students with a mission to raise awareness and generate funds for injured veterans by culminating fundraising efforts with a charity golf tournament. We are pleased to announce the first annual Swings for Soldiers Classic will be held on April 21st, 2017 and all proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund! Our goal is to raise $20,000 dollars from this golf tournament to help those who have been injured while bravely defending our country.
The Semper Fi Fund provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 wounded, crittically ill, and injured members of all branches of the U.S. military. They have been given the highest ratings possible from watchdog groups and are one of three veteran non-profits to be given this mark in recent years. Swings for Soldiers is seeking donations on GoFundMe from those who cannot play in the event or sponsor a hole, but want to help make the inaugural Swings for Soldiers Classic a success.
