Alice's Medical Care

Most of you are already familiar with Alice and what she's going through, but if not, here's a short recap. Alice is a very special dog. She has not only been the best friend I could ever hope for, but she has also been my buisness partner for the past 9 years. I'm a professional dog trainer and Alice has helped me train hundreds of dogs and puppies with issues that a human just couldn't level with. She's also a recently retired therapy dog. She's brought joy to many schools, hospitals and hospice facilities.
A year and a half ago, Alice was diagnosed with malignant oral melanoma (a very aggressive type of cancer) and was given only 2 months to survive if she didn't undergo treatment. With your help, Alice was able to go through surgery, radiation, and an experimental cancer vaccine treatment. It's been a rough process, but she has survived this long while mantaining a high quality of life. Within the last 2 months, Alice's health began to decline as she began battling an aggessive autoimmune disease called Thrombocytopenia (her body attacks healthy blood platelets, causing her to hemorrhage and bleed internally), but luckily I caught it in time and she was able to begin treatment to counter the disease. Since Alice is a sensitive gal, the treatments can sometimes be worse than the actual disease and she is now having a whole mess of side effects. Alice has dedicated her life to helping others and even though she may only have a short time left with me, I want to make sure that her remaining time is as happy and comfortable as possible. Since this is such a complicated case, she is currently under the care of four different types of doctors to ensure that we're approaching this the right way. As you can imagine, the bills are adding up. I know that Alice has touched more lives than I even know of, so I just wanted to put this out into cyberspace and open it up for donations if anyone wanted to contribute to her ongoing care.
