Sweet Avery's Medical Fund

Donation protected
My name is Monika and I am one of the current owners of Central Bark Eugene. I am starting this fundraiser for one of our beloved day care dogs, Avery, who has been diagnosed with and experiencing a variety of medical issues over the last two weeks; she is at WilVet South Animal Clinic as I write this, waiting for her amazing humans to pick her up after a rough morning where they will learn more about what is happening to their sweet baby girl. Due to two recent visits at the emergency vet, the medical bills are piling up ($3,400 to date) and we want to help her family ease the financial burden of emergency veterinary care so they can focus on Avery's diagnosis and medical battle ahead.

Avery is an amazing 2 year-old pup with more personality and spark for life than a spunky five- year old child. She joined the Central Bark Eugene day care crew in August of 2022 and has made numerous human and dog friends due to her playful and sweet personality, taken countless naps on the outdoor play group structures while sunbathing with her best friend Sully and has made us laugh + smile every time she steps foot in our facility. Simply put, we all adore her more than words can describe.

When Avery was a few weeks old, she was saved by the amazing non-profit organization "Panda Paws Rescue" after being overlooked by others due to the fact it was thought her hind legs were paralyzed. At 8 weeks old, after a vet found a mass on her spine that they were able to drain, she regained mobility and was adopted by her current family in Eugene, Oregon. Fast forward to April 23rd, 2024, Avery was rushed to an emergency vet in Springfield, Oregon and diagnosed with severe malformation of the lumbar vertebrae, scoliosis, a malformed pelvis, a bilateral hip dysplasia and her family was informed that the cyst came back - filled with hair, cartilage, and what the veterinarian described as "green sludge." Despite improvement in the last few weeks and a positive visit at her "regular" veterinarian yesterday that left her family filled with hope, she was rushed back to the emergency vet this morning when her humans knew that something was off since Avery was not acting like herself. Once again, they drained the cyst and are referring her to Oregon Veterinary Referral Associates so her family can learn more and be referred to the right specialty doctor to help her get through this.

If you are a client of Central Bark Eugene, you are aware that we view and treat every dog in in our care as family - and Avery is no exception.

If you are able to donate a dollar, five or more, I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to consider doing so to help Avery and her family through this difficult and expensive time. If you are unable to donate, please "share" this fundraiser via any social media channel.

The high cost of emergency visits and ongoing medical care should not hinder any family from helping their fur baby live out their best life and we know every dollar that is donated will help Avery and her family to focus on what matters most - helping her get back to "normal" and healthy!

Thank you for taking the time to read about Avery's medical battle and fundraiser - we appreciate you.
