Swansea Ladies 1st Team Dribbling to Vienna

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Louise Loughlin, and I am a player at Swansea Ladies' 1st team. Firstly, I want to say thank you for taking the time to look at what our team is raising money towards. We are raising money to help fund our Europen Campaign in Vienna. The competition takes place from the 25th to the 30th of May and is a chance for many of us to play in an international competition.

What are we doing?
On Sunday, 21st May we will be undertaking a challenge to help raise funds for our European campaign in Vienna. The challenge consists of us dribbling a hockey ball up the highest peak in South Wales. Pen-Y-Fan. An impressive height of 886 metres (2,907 ft). If you are new to hockey, dribbling a ball on the harsh terrain of the Brecon Beacons mountain will be a challenge in itself.

Myself, Fleur Gallagher (our feisty forward with a lethal backhand hit) and our loyal captain Becks Trehearne (who leads us into battle every game day) is taking part in this challenge.
You will be with us on this journey. Follow SwanseaLadies1st on Instagram to join us in taking on this challenge. There will be live updates on the way.

Background
We are a self-funded club playing in the English National League and are the top ladies' team in Wales. This status gives us the privilege of competing on a European platform. In 2021 we were promoted into the English Premier League, the first Welsh team to ever do so. Last May we won the European Challenge Cup III in Turkey which earnt us our promotion to the European Challenge Cup II. This achievement was only possible because of people's kind donations and it would be an incredible opportunity to continue in our stride and reach our full potential as a team, hoping to prove ourselves once again.

Why is this important?
With the rising costs all of us face, travel has become too expensive for us as individuals to cover alone, with many of us being young players or university students, and so along with some other fundraising efforts, we have made this page. Your donation would go towards the cost of the competition and the price of the accommodation and travel.

We would be incredibly grateful for any money you are comfortable donating and will keep you all updated on our social media platforms as the competition continues. If you feel that you would love to help but cannot spare any money at the current time, please share this donation page along with our social media pages:
