Swami Vivekananda's Jnana Yoga Classes, 1895-96

Tax deductible
During this time of uncertainty, fear and constant change, VedantaWorks believes a message of hope and inspiration is needed more than ever. Swami Vivekananda, an Indian yogi, was the first to introduce Indian philosophies to the West in 1893.  For more information, click here:

Our long-term vision is to record all of Swami Vivekananda’s yoga classes (Jnana, Karma, Bhakti and Raja). Our immediate goal is to record all fourteen (14) of Swami Vivekananda’s Jnana Yoga classes that he gave during his second sojourn in New York City from December 11, 1895 to February 12, 1896.

"Swamiji's teachings as a whole during this second season in New York, one finds him marking out a way for the active modern man and woman such as had never been defined before."
                                                                         -Sister Gargi (Mary Louise Burke)

Thanks to several of Swami Vivekananda’s disciples who diligently transcribed all these classes in person, we now have a complete record of all of his classes on the four yogas. The publisher, Advaita Ashrama, has kindly given us permission to record them in chronological order and without editing.

To help us get the message of Swami Vivekananda to Westerners and the world, VedantaWorks is seeking $5,000 in funding for the Jnana Yoga recordings, which includes the cost of the narrator, editing, social-media marketing and creating podcast platforms for these inspiring classes.

We have hired a professional voice-over actor and the first Jnana Yoga class is available now on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/vedantaworks

If you would like to “hear” Swami Vivekananda's words, now more relevant than ever, please donate to this GoFundMe Campaign.* Any amount will be appreciated.

Each donation is tax-deductible in America through the Ramakrishna Foundation https://www.ramakrishnafoundation.org/. You will receive a tax-receipt from GoFundMe for your records.
