Help Bring Rachel Home

Please help Fund the saving of my Wife Rachel Ferguson's life. Rachel is a precious soul. A devout believer in the Lord. She is one that is full of goodness and innocence. This year she turned 55 years old. She is a former United Nations Staff member who worked during her years of tenure at Critical Missions around the world. The last being the Haiti mission just before the Earth Quake hit.

During the time we moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the year 2007, a year later in 2008, my wife Rachel suffered a back injury and developed a severely strained back. Her back injury was diagnosed to the lower disks of the spine bulged resulting in excruciating pain. This Condition started a downward spiral in Rachel's health resulting in the need for medicinal pain management. Due to the severity of her back condition and tremendous chronic back pain, my wife developed ongoing insomnia and is unable to sleep properly without the aide of sleeping pills. This state of inability to sleep attributes to bouts of severe depression, anxiety and a constant triggering of post traumatic stress.

As of today Rachel's health has taken a turn for the worst and has spiral downward. The constant reliance on pain medication has also attributed to severe anxiety, severe high blood pressure, and diabetes (each now needing to be managed with various medications).

In our hopes of being able to find holistic methods of health and healing, and to steer away from the large amounts of daily medication my wife has been taking, we made a decision to travel back to India (my wife's home land), in the hope to find greater support in holistic medicine and care to Rachel's health and healing, as well as more affordable nursing care. The cost for medical treatment, frequent hospitalizations, prescription medicines, and home aide assistance has left me near bankrupt.

When Covid-19 Hit in early 2020 Rachel was in India and was unfortunately Caught in INDIA and had to stay in Hyderabad where she remains today due to the COVID lockdown in India.

India Cancelled all the Normal Visas prohibiting international travelers into the Country, So unless you were a Dual resident/Citizen as my wife Rachel is, or have had an Emergency Visa you were not allowed admittance into India. We have been apart for almost 2 years now. I have been managing the financial Care of the Medical Hospitalizations, as well as us living in 2 different countries and all that entails (food, lodging, living expenses, the monthly upkeep, and in-home nursing visits). But I am honestly at the end of my rope financially. There are times I have often felt like giving up because the struggles have been so overwhelming.

Two-days ago Rachel conditions worsened significantly, resulting in my wife suffering a stroke. She was brought to the hospital unconscious, and after emergency medical care provided was held in the Intensive Care Unit.  After 5-days the doctors were able to stabilize her vitals and Rachel is now  in recovery at a nursing home. I am here in the USA. I have been able to secure the Emergency Visa which will allow me entry into India, yet I cannot afford the Flights to travel to be by my wife. I cannot afford to send needed funds to cover the current medical expenses and tests; as with being a US Citizen my wife does not have any medical Coverage in INDIA. All services must be paid up in front ahead of services performed. My wife has little to no true family or friends left in India especially since COVID. She has one son who remains in India but the relationship is a very strained one. My wife is viewed as a burden to her own son. I am deeply sad and greatly stressed by all that is taking place, and the lack of help her son is willing to contribute due to his own health issues.

My wife is such a loving soul and has helped so many people during the time she has been well. We pray for a miracle of help so that I can travel to India to be by my wife's side to care for her, comfort her and do my best to bring her back to the USA for further medical attention.

I have come to the GoFundMe in the hope that God may touch the heart of others that may be willing to help towards the financial need of flights, hotel cost, towards the medical expenses we are challenged with, and the logistical steps that I must finalize to bring Rachel back to our home in the USA. I Believe in Miracles. I believe that God NEVER forgets about his Children, and I believe he has not forgotten Rachel.

I thank each and everyone that can help no matter how small or large. We are grateful. Thank you all for your love, your support, your prayers. We really need it.
