The Family of Susan Bender Costanzo

Susan Bender Costanzo was the beautiful, devoted wife to William Costanzo and loving mother to three amazing young men; John age 20, Christopher, age 19, and Matthew age 15. Susan was the heart of her family, the glue that held them together and made everything work. She lost her brief, intense battle against cancer on April 19, 2018 at the young age of 54 to the great sadness of all who knew and loved her. She was surrounded with love, family and friends throughout her illness.

This is a family who has always given all they can to others in their community. Susan was a lifelong member of the Babylon Village community; State University at Binghamton Alumna, St. Joseph’s RC Church catechist, Babylon Community Scholarship committee member and could always be found at her son’s games, concerts and events. Her husband William is a dedicated member of the Babylon Fire Department. They enjoyed their family life with love and joy. Susan had an infectious laugh and sincere personality that endeared her to family and friends everywhere she went.

So many people have asked how they can help this wonderful family. In addition to the loss of their wife and mother, the family has lost her income and taken on significant medical expenses. Her husband William is dealing with devastating loss and the daunting task of two sons in college and one in 9th grade. Both of Susan’s older sons left college in March in order to be with her. This campaign is designed to try and assist with the tremendous struggle this family has endured. It will be used to help offset living and college tuition expenses, pay any uncovered medical bills, and make whatever we can just a little bit easier for them.
